No, it is not a seasoning to add to food at the dinner table. PEPPER is an initiative by the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is a reporting tool that allows home health agencies to look at their
claims data statistics and benchmark to other agencies. PEPPER stands for Program for Evaluating Payment
Patterns Electronic Report. The HHA PEPPER was specifically designed for home health agencies and made
available in 2015. This dynamic tool is based on actual Medicare claims data and helps home health agencies
to determine if its billing statistics may be at higher risk for improper Medicare Payments. Participants in this
webinar will receive an understanding of the use and benefits of the PEPPER reports, and how they should be
incorporated into agency practice management plans.
